| Only seven more days and my summer will be officially over. Here we go
all over again, starting from the bottom as freshman. One thing that
Mr. McNeil said during our freshman year orientation four years ago
really stuck in my head. I don't know if u remember but he asked us to
look over to the person to our left and to our right. He then said that
statistics show that one of those people will not graduate with us.
That was the beginning of our freshman year, and truthfully niether of
the people I was sitting next to finished at Roosevelt. One dropped out
of school after being arrested for armed robbery and the other
transferred.
Reguardless, last year we graduated with one of the largest graduating
classes in Roosevelt's history beating the predicted statistics. Now,
we face worst statistics predicting that only 1/4 of us will finish.
That is scary, but then again, when has our class
ever conformed to statistics.
We're out to make history and break records.
Good Luck and God Bless! I'm Out... This time for good.

| i Kno it's like da middle of the night or morning...wateva. I dun sleep much anymore, atleast not at night.
I was looking for this one quote... "Success isn't a destination, but a journey." I don't know who said it but it's a quote that i live by. I'm that type of guy that believes in destiny. I know all about the shit happens theory but the way i see it is that shit is gonna happen reguardless. No one is without sin nomatter how saved, so everyone is destined to face shit at one point or another. No where in the bible does it say "IF U BELIEVE IN HIM SHIT WON'T HAPPEN". Shit's gonna happen, but success is substained when the shit is dealt with properly. Preacher Man sais that when shit happens, we are to ask for forgiveness then pick up the pieces. So yea it's only failure if u choose to sit and sobb in ur shit. I don't care what those philosophers, doctors, and republicans say, failure is not a neccessary part to success. I don't believe in failure. Just remember that everything that happens in life is justified. I'm done typin bout nothin but ima leave ya with sum real quotes to live by...
"The successful always has a number of projects planned, to which he looks forward. Anyone of them could change the course of his life overnight.” –Mark Caine
"The great successful men of the world have used their imagination…they think ahead and create their mental picture in all its details, filling in here, adding a little there, altering this a bit and that a bit, but steadily building - steadily building." Robert Collier
"Success often comes to those who have the aptitude to see way down the road." Laing Burns, Jr.
"Keep your mind on your future and let your eyes handle the present" James Powell

I am so tired of hearing these million dollar artist talking about leaving a legacy. Some of them are looking in the right direction and putting their money to good use, but others u see spending millions on jewlery and hot cars. if i had money like that ill build a university named after me or better low-income housing.
Watching MTV... They're interviewing this girl Shakira who took her money and built a school in the ghetto of her home country for the displaced children. Thats leaving a legacy. Those children went from eating one meal every two days, to having lunch, breakfast, and a snacktime daily. She provided uniforms to the kids because they couldnt afford clothes. Those kids look forward to going to school, not only for the food and clothes but for education. She's giving each of those kids hope for a positive future.
That all good but i had to turn back to BET. Then i see Damon Dash on BET.. Please keep in mind that Damon's net worth doubles Shakira, but he leaves a legacy by rebuilding a historic outdoor basketball court and providing basketball uniforms and basketball shoes to middle class kids in NYC. I'm not sayin that what hes doin isnt positive and influental but we all kno that theres a one in a billion chance that a balla from the streets gonna make it into the NBA, its to political.
Then we look at artist like Jay-Z, and P-Diddy who has enough money to build whole universities. I mean damn why not have a Roc-A-Fella University, or a Bad Boy University. Each of these artist that we see on BET have enough money to make a significant diffrence in the community. Jay-Z was named the Most Influental Black Male in America. I mean damn instead of funding vote commercials why not do something really big and run for president. People in da hood complain that theres no reason to vote cuz nothin a president do is gonna effect the hood. Why not have a president from da hood? lol....could Jay-Z really do any worst then Bush? The way things going Arnold Swarchenegger will be president before we have a black president.
Okay..i just had to get that stuff out.
